Johnelle Mancha | owner & principal designer

 

Johnelle Mancha, is the lead designer & owner of Mignonne Decor.  An artist and designer, her process of conceptualizing new projects stems from her fine art background.  Fluent in French, her early years of bilingual education fueled her passion of the arts.  She went on to continue her studies both in Paris, and in Florence, Italy at The Accademia Di Belle Arti Di Firenze.  With a bachelors in fine arts, she draws from her passion of paint, and her hands on approach is applied to the spirit of her work and life.  A Bay Area native, she embraces the diversity and culture she was raised to love.  Her design philosophy is that every room is that much prettier with a touch of something vintage and soulful, to balance out modern elements.  Her showroom & design studio Mignonne Decor, is a little slice of the design world that she can share her coveted vintage decor finds & furniture creations.  She believes that your home or workspace should reflect you, and has a passion for bringing out her client’s aesthetic when collaborating.  

Meet the Team

Brian Hill | lead carpenter

Brian has been working in carpentry for twenty years and has developed a natural affinity for making wood deliver it's best for all of life's needs. His talents have been honed on a wide variety of projects throughout the Bay Area, including many high end restaurant build outs, residential remodels, custom furnishings and of course a plethora of furniture repairs and remakes. The decor and design world is an ever evolving place to be and the desire of clients to seek out sustainable and environmentally tolerant products and practices is paramount in Brian's work ethos. He has been a nari certified "green builder" since 2005 and enjoys bringing furnishings back to life by repurposing or reinvigorating existing pieces, creating new pieces from scratch and combining a bit of both. Found objects and mixed media furnishings also provides interest for his expressions, but wood is his favorite way to display his love of building.  Find many revolving furniture pieces of his in Mignonne’s showroom.  So what can Brian build for you?

Saverio Trinchese | showroom specialist

Sav is a Bay Area Native with a passion for interior design. With an extensive background in textiles, window treatments and sustainable home goods, he understands and appreciates the stories Mignonne's statement antique & vintage pieces make. Sav loves how blending old and new is an ethically responsible way of designing a space, and is delighted to engage with our clientele.  With his strong knowledge of our ever evolving & rotating inventory, he will be there to assist you find the perfect touches for your home, from small gifts to larger decor items.  With a new found passion of houseplants as well, he is always up to help you source the perfect plant for your interior!

Alex McNall | back of house manager & lead painter

Alex hails from Oregon, but has called the East Bay 'home' for the past ten years, and has been a part of the Mignonne family for the past eight years. One of his favorite things about Mignonne is that every piece he helps re-create is original and no two alike!  He is an avid furniture restorer, and loves the preservation process when handling our antiques and vintage furniture finds.  He makes sure that all pieces are revived, whether that is just a deep cleaning or a full restoration. From creating custom paint & stain colors, to finding just the right amount of weathering on a furniture piece, you can find him working away at our Atelier, bringing your prized possessions back to life. 

Jesus  | lead upholsterer

Born in Mexico City, Jesus comes from a family of upholsterers, where he originally learned his craft from his brothers. In 1970, Jesus persued the upholstery trade full time with his first job reupholstering a tufted chair. Since then, he has perfected his trade while taking inspiration from antique techniques, and also learning how to rebuild vintage as well as modern furniture.

Inspired by craftsmenship, Jesus loves his trade and gets the most satisfaction from giving a vintage piece a new life.
