Vintage Versatility + Bath & Beauty

At Mignonne, we love to mix and match some of our vintage collections for multiple uses. The above textile, ceramic and brass finds can be used to add warm and earthy accents to any bathroom or vanity. Brass, copper and silver vintage vessels add a beautiful and soulful spin on the ordinary bath product carriers. Applying these elements in storing your daily cleansing sundries provides for a stylistically thoughtful space. Some of our antique French medicine tins used as brush holders, match boxes for bathtime candlelight or bath salt/herb vessels fit this French-country-classic vibe seamlessly. These aged, patina finds are what we see as perfectly imperfect; a story behind each item. Natura

North Berkeley Bungalow

A lot of people wonder what the appropriate steps one should take in order to properly design a room. The answer is, start big and go small. Meaning: start with a sofa and a rug and design from there. The is the case because sofas and rugs are typically the largest and most expensive items in a room, and therefore should be selected first, making it easier to design the smaller items around it. That way, if you add a smaller item and decide it didn't look good next to the couch, it's easier and more economical to replace. This is the easiest way to design a room, but sometimes you can't design a room from scratch. This was the case with this North Berkeley Bungalow we redid several months ag

Before & After: Restoration

At Mignonne, we love updating old furniture pieces with new and exciting fabrics and colors, but sometimes an antique is beautiful as is in it's original era. This settee was brought to us from a client who loved the style and wanted to keep it in their victorian era home. Therefore, the client was sure she wanted to restore, but also reupholster with "a victorian era type fabric". We definitely understand the importance of keeping antiques true to their era, and whenever this is requested we are happy to do so. For this project, we were able to find a nice striped print fabric that lends itself quite well with the era, while also adding a refreshing new approach to the look of the settee.

Sectional Make-Over

At Mignonne Decor, we are constantly approached by clients to transform their furniture pieces. Whether it's upholstery, repainting or re-staining, we love helping clients see their favorite old pieces get a new lease on life. This old sectional was brought to us by local clients who wanted it to complement the rest of their living room. We love when clients bring us a piece of furniture with tons of potential, especially when it is going in such a lovely and well designed room. After looking at photos of the space and going over the clients wants and needs, we collectively settled on this rich brown mohair. We thought the dark chocolate color would really compliment the rug and home accents
