Mignonne,
in French, means sweet or cute. The wonderful boutiques
of France are the sources of our inspiration for our shop,
Mignonne. The shop is an inviting resource for prestigious
home decor and unique gift items, and personal care products
of exceptional quality. Our vibrant store is modeled
after a chic studio apartment and our wares are presented
in room-like vignettes making it easy to envision how the
décor and furnishings will look in your own home.
Also, our displays include background information about
our products such as regional and provenance information.
Our
customers are local residents, daytime employees of Oakland's
financial district, Francophiles who reside in the bay area
and seek out certain French-themed products, and business
travelers and convention center visitors staying in nearby
hotels.

Kimberlee and Johnelle Mancha are a mother-daughter
team that share a love of everything French. An Oakland
Native, Johnelle attended the French-American School
in Berkeley receiving an education in French language,
history and culture. After studying painting in Paris
and Florence, Johnelle received her BFA from San Francisco
State University. Kimberlee is a California native and
self-professed Francophile. She travels to France often
and is familiar with all regions and specialties of
the country. Johnelle and Kim revel in the stories and
histories behind the quality and craftsmanship found
in their collection of vintage pieces, new modern wares,
and unique gift items. Mignonne is a great place to
buy gifts. There are so many fun, unusual, and beautiful
objects that it's quite easy to be distracted from the
task of shopping for someone else.
Pieces
turn over quite quickly, but a steady stream of new
inventory makes regular visits to Mignonne a must
for aficionados and professionals of the interior
décor trade.
